The facoty head unit doesn't use a traditional co-ax antenna connection. It uses a wire from the factory harness. i would imagine someone makes a module for aftermarket head unit's for these vehicles.

The radio is grounding through the antenna connection. Unplug the antenna and see that it will stop. However you still need to hook up the ground 1st and the antenna last.
A simple continuity test will do, check for continuity from the antenna to the plug. Not much goes wrong with these though I would look at the plug connection at the back of the stereo sometimes they are loose and come apart.
Attached the wiring harness and the antenna cable to the back of your stereo. Slide the stereo into the stereo slot. Tighten the stereo with the stereo retaining screws.

no. first check fuses. check ground. check for voltage to memory, and switched power to radio. the only time the antenna would affect the radio in that manner is if the ground was connected to the antenna.
This procedure is done exactly the same as you would change a monaural antenna.
