The story of Eli begins in 1 Samuel 1 as he mistakes Hannah, the mother of Samuel, for being drunk as she's praying for a child. It goes on to God's curse on Eli and his family in 1 Samuel 2:27-36 He dies in 1 Samuel 4:18 when he hears the news that both his sons died in battle. It ends in 1 Kings 2:7 when the followup to the curse comes true during the time of King Solomon, many years later.
