It is in a housing on the engine end of the upper rad hose. When replacing it make sure the spring is toward the engine.

there are 2 large black hoses that come off of your radiator. the one located higher on the radiator (upper radiator hose) goes from your radiator to the thermostat housing. the thermostat housing is a metal tube that is bolted to the engine. the thermostat is located inside of the housing and can be accessed by removing the bolts

The thermostat is located in the water neck where the top radiator hose goes on. Its mounted in an O-ring, just pop it out with a screwdriver and replace it.

Two bolts hold the housing to the engine, remove those and pop it off to get to the thermostat. The bottom bolt is a real pain to get to, I foung that an offset boxend wrench works the best. Just remember to get a new gasket when its time to put it back together.

Well if you're doing your standard fluid/filter change, just measure how much you removed, and replace that much.
