Where is the thermostat located on a 1989 Mercury Tracer?
It is in a housing on the engine end of the upper rad hose. When replacing it make sure the spring is toward the engine.
It is located on the drivers side of the engine, just in front of but slighly below the distributor cap. You will have to remove the entire air cleaner, the inlet hose and disconnect the coil wire so you can access the thermostat housing. Once that is done, you'll need to remove the wire that connects to the sensor in the thermostat housing. Then just tie all the wires up so they are out of…
Found thermostat on 1989 Mercury Tracer seems there is a pipe or tube directly in front of the lower thermostat housing bolt how do I get to that bolt to remove it?
there are 2 large black hoses that come off of your radiator. the one located higher on the radiator (upper radiator hose) goes from your radiator to the thermostat housing. the thermostat housing is a metal tube that is bolted to the engine. the thermostat is located inside of the housing and can be accessed by removing the bolts
The thermostat is located at the back of the engine near where the radiator hoses attach. There is a housing held in by two bolts. It may be necessary to remove the air cleaner housing to access it. The new thermostat from Honda comes with the gasket and can only be installed one way (with the pin up).
the thermostat is located on the outlet on top of the motor where the radiator hose is connected. remove the top radiator hose from the housing and there is two bolts holding the housing on the head of the motor, remove the bolts and you will find the thermostat. to replace just reverse the order in which it was taken off. hope this helps. john.
