Where is the thermostat located on a 1995 Saturn sl2 1.9 dohc?
When looking at the engine follow the hose off the left side of the rad. At the end of the hose is the t-stat housing......
if you follow the lower rad hose, under the engine it connects to a metal pipe which goes up the back of the engine. the thermostat is located in that pipe where it joins to the water pump. I found yhe least frustrating way to change it is to remove the exhaust pipe and manifold, and you will be able to see the housing clearly.
look where the air intake goes to, on the driver side of the block If you have the 2.4L DOHC 4cyl. the thermostat is attached to the water pump, which is located under the exhaust manifold on the side of the engine facing the fire wall. you will have to pull the exhaust manifold in order to change it
On a 2000 Saturn sl2 im not getting fire to the 1 center spark plug i changed the coil the same 2 run to also changed plugs and wires what else could be causing this?
If your car is V-6 2500c.c. DOHC you will find an aluminum housing with two bolts facing the radiator placed in between hoses on the drivers side of you motor. they will be between the motor and the battery just below the battery tray. if you remove the two bolts the housing will separate and expose the thermostat. Note weep hole goes in upwards.
SC2 had a larger rocker cover and says DOHC on it. Look at the front of the car, if it has pop-up headlights it is an SC2. If the front of the car looks like the SL front clip than it is an SC1 for 1991-5. the only real difference is on the SC1 the engine says SOHC (single overhead cam) on the SC2 the engine says DOHC (dual overhead cam) its right on the…
Looking at the engine from the front of the car, the EGR valve is directly behind the valve cover (right side). It has a wiring harness connected to it with multiple wires. It sits straight down on the engine and is attached with two bolts. ( Note: the front of the valve cover is next to the upper engine mount)
There are 2 options, 8valve 115bhp sohc and 16valve 147 bhp dohc, if you open the bonnet the 16v dohc has an unmitakable intake manifold and DOHC 16 v badge is on the casting. hope this helps There are 2 options, 8valve 115bhp sohc and 16valve 147 bhp dohc, if you open the bonnet the 16v dohc has an unmitakable intake manifold and DOHC 16 v badge is on the casting. hope this helps
I have a 99 Saturn SL2. Believe it or not, the FUEL FILTER (YES, THE FUEL FILTER) HAS the pressure regulator built inside the filter. That's why the filter costs FORTY DOLLARS at Checker Auto. (Auto Zone wanted $67) I'm getting it replaced tomorrow...Feb 19,2008. The filter on my car is located in the rear underside of the vehicle in front of the gas tank.....left (driver's) side....rear of the car. > > This is true…
