It depends on the specific engine. At the upper hose is more common, but some are on the lower.
DOHC means Double Over-Head Cam. The engine has 2 camshafts that are located within the cylinder head at the top of the engine.
its under the car on the passenger side on the engine side of the radiator. its a inline thermostat
if you follow the lower rad hose, under the engine it connects to a metal pipe which goes up the back of the engine. the thermostat is located in that pipe where it joins to the water pump. I found yhe least frustrating way to change it is to remove the exhaust pipe and manifold, and you will be able to see the housing clearly.
The thermostat on the 2.4L is at the engine end of the upper radiator hose. On the v6 it is under the housing where the lower radiator hose attaches.
Dohc means that the engine has 4 valves per cylinder or 2 camshafts per head :)
In both the SOHC and the DOHC engines, the #2 cylinder is the 2nd from the right side of the engine as you see it looking into the engine compartment from the front of the vehicle.
just follow the upper radiator hose toward engine and remove the bolts
You could have the 2.0 L - DOHC - 4 cylinder or a 2.5 L - DOHC - V6 engine
DOHC stands for Dual Over Head Cam : That means that each cylinder head has 2 camshafts on the top of the engine cylinder head ( in the case of the Ford Escort ZX2 , there is one cylinder head on the four cylinder engine so it has 2 camshafts on top of the cylinder head )
On a 1999 Ford Taurus with a 3.0 DOHC 24-valve engine, the thermostat is located at the engine's front, near the water pump. You'll need to remove the upper radiator hose and the thermostat housing to access it. It's typically secured with bolts, so you'll need the appropriate tools to remove the housing to replace or inspect the thermostat.
On a 2003 Duratec DOHC motor, the thermostat is typically located in a housing on the engine near the top, where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine. To access it, you'll generally need to remove the upper radiator hose and the thermostat housing bolts. It's advisable to consult a repair manual for specific details and diagrams related to your vehicle model.
Yes, a 2.7L L4 DOHC 16V engine is a four-cylinder engine. The "L4" designation indicates that it has four cylinders arranged in a line (inline configuration). The "DOHC" stands for dual overhead camshaft, and "16V" indicates that the engine has 16 valves, typically four per cylinder.
