I believe you are referring to the Deathly Hallows. The three Hallows were the Invisibility Cloak, the Elder Wand, and the Resurrection Stone. It was said that whoever owned all three would become "Master of Death".

Harry owned Death's Invisibility Cloak ever since the first book. The Elder Wand moved locations frequently, as the only way to get the wand to accept and work for you is to kill the previous owner. The Resurrection Stone was in a ring that belonged to the Gaunt family (the ring was later destroyed by Albus Dumbledore, and so it later moved into his possesion).
