This depends on the vehicle, but is most usually in a housing on the engine side of the top radiator hose, that is the top radiator hose is usually connected to the thremostat housing.
Look at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
Most likely at the end of the hose that goes from the top of the radiator to the engine
Should be in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
NTC is the brand name. And 82C means it has a rating of 82 degrees centigrade.
I have a 02 buick rendezvous mine would blow a lil heat but never would get hot. We had it checked it was the thremostat, that is what was wrong with mine. They told me there is three things it could have been , it could be low on antifreeze , thremostat, or if you have to keep adding antifreeze often then it is your heater core.
Just follow that top hose leading to the engine. Remove that metal pipe attached. It's right there.
At the engine end of the upper rad hose. When reinstalling the thremostat, make sure the spring is toward the engine.
Most all Cummins temperature sensors are located at the thremostat housing
Just follow the BOTTOM radiator hose to were it clamps onto a housing on the front of the engine and it will be behind the housing that the hose is clamped to.
I can think of Three things,1. Thremostat stuck open.2. Poor quality radiator hose or the spring inside is bent or missing.3. Low water level in radiator.Good Luck
follow the radiator hose on top to the engine and where ever it ends that's it, you just have to drain the fluid first and make sure the vehicle is cold. there should be 2 screws holding it, take out the screws and you should see your stat.
You can for awhile but it is not recommended. Running without the thremostat will cause your engine to wear prematurely because you have nothing there to keep the engine at it's recommended temperature. As a result it wll not run at it's best performance level And the cylinder walls will be prematurely worn.
