may be a bad TPS (throttle position sensor) if Fuel Injected a 92 so I would assume so.
P0120 code is for the TPS/Throttle pedal position sensor .
on the driver side of the throttle body itself
On the throttle body, opposite of where the cables attach.
TPS IS THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
If you disconnect the TPS sensor, there would be hesitation on acceleration.
Throttle Position Sensor(TPS)/Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor(APPS) signal voltage high.
Three wire sensor on the throttle body.Three wire sensor on the throttle body.
Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Low Input You need to test the wiring to the TPS, check the computer, and maybe replace the tps
Throttle Position Sensor-is a sensor used to monitor the position of the throttle in an internal combustion engine. The sensor is usually located on the butterfly spindle so that it can directly monitor the position of the throttle valve butterfly.
When the TPS sensor is disconnected from the car in idle, there would be delayed acceleration.
The erratic idle is probably a loose or leaky vacuum line or there is a sensor bad, like the TPS or MAP sensor etc.
NO ajust on tps sensor,. Replace
AnswerThe TPS is back near the firewall. It's held in with 4 bolts and connected to the throttle cable with another bolt. If your car is stalling because the TPS is sticking, a shot of WD40 will save you the cost of the part. The TPS is nowhere near the firewall. It is mounted on the side of the throttle body. This is where the air cleaner duct routes into on the top of the engine. You will want to look on the driver side of the throttle body. There will be three wires running to the TPS sensor. Unhook the sensor. Remove the two screws that mount it to the throttle body. Install the new sensor. These are non adjustable sensors on the newer Fords. I've never seen WD40 save a TPS sensor.
You shouldn't. The idle speed is set at the fatory. Instead look into testing your TPS and VAM. Check timing and and test O2 sensor.
How do i fix the TPS pedal position sensor in a grand prix pontiac 2004.
It is a Throttle Position Sensor
check the TPS (throttle position sensor) check the TPS (throttle position sensor)
the TPS or throttle position sensor is located on the throtttle body which must be removed before replacing tps
No map sensor is manifold absolute pressure sensor and tps throttle position sensor
The tps (throttle position sensor) would be found on the throttle body, opposite side where the throttle cable is connected.
The throttle position sensor is not adjustable.
Most likely you would have to replace the whole MAF. However, when I saw that code in my '89 V6 AT Camry there was also the code for the TPS (throttle position sensor). Because it wasn't idling correctly I chose to replace the TPS first, consequently the Air Intake Temp Sensor code never came back after I had completed the repairs (including following the manuals instructions for proper adjustment of the TPS) and cleared the codes.
It connects the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) to the ECM (Engine Control Module) so the ECM can receive information transmitted by the TPS.
R&R tps sensor
