The Chevrolet voltage regulator has been built into the alternator since 1973. I HAVE A 86 BLAZER AND MINE IS BUILT IN THE ALTERNATOR. YOURS MIGHT BE ALSO. IT ALSO COULD BE ON THE FENDER WALL ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.
Look up the '86 Ford LTD and '86 Dodge Daytona in the RockAuto.com parts catalog and compare the part numbers between the two cars to see which, if any, are interchangeable.
The vacuum diagram is available in the 86 dodge power ram service manual. the local dodge dealer might be willing to print out a copy for a small fee.
