I have the haynes repair manual on that car and it doesn't tell the location or show a picture I could explain, but it does say when working in thevicinity of the electric cooling fan disconnect the - battery cable. So my guess it is somewhere around there. Sorry I tried. The water pump is located under the timing belt cover and is driven off the timing belt
Crank sensors are always located on the camshafts. The 1989 Pontiac Sunbird crank sensor is located on the head of the engine towards to end of the camshaft.
