Locate the metal housing on the end of the top radiator hose. Unbolt the silver coloured metal cover and the thermostat will now be visible. Be careful to depressurise the cooling system if hot. Also handy to slide a tray under front of motor to catch spilt coolant. This if true for 6 and 8 cylinders. Although the V8 thermostat is positioned sideways and is a bit more tricky to replace.
