Only if you are not careful and you dont put a drain pan under it Yes, unless you have a method of catching the fluid for disposal. BTW, don't re-use the fluid.

From there the pan is held on by numerous bolts which circle the pan. Once removed the filter is located inside. You will need a new gasket to go on when you re install the pan.
