where can i find my block heater on my izusu rodeo engine 2.3
99% it is a defective blockheater, it works like an element it shorts out & trips the GFI, i would also check the extension cord & if possible try a different plug, if it still trips, its the blockheater.
If you are under the front of vehicle, its on the bottom front of engine facing the radiator.
There are some units that replace the oil dipstick There are some units that require removing a freeplug and replacing with blockheater
you can purchase whats called a battery tender it keeps your battery at a constant full charge when not in use also keeps battery warmer also a insulated battery wrap is help-full but if diesel starting is a issue in cold you cant beat a block heater it also helps keep fuel near engine from gelling, p.s make sure your fuel is winterized g
Answer antifreeze is necessary to increase the boiling point---greatly decrease the freeing point---provide water pump lubricants and rust inhibitors for the entire cooling system---block --blockheater radiater and heater corePut in a 50/50 mixture of Anti-Freeze and distilled water. Pure water is a bad idea because the engine will overheat at a lower temperature with just pure water and it will also freeze. Water also provides no lubrication or protection for the system.
