What is ECM on Geo Tracker?
It's right behind the drivers side speaker, by the steering wheel in a 92 geo tracker. But I've read that you can bypass the ECM if your geo isn't starting but cranks. It's make a jump wire from the main black wire from the coilpack to the red wire on the fuel injector. Im about to try it with mine. Hope this helps. ! Good luck.

you will need the ecm that goes with that motor, or have your ecm reprogramed but i dont know were you can have that done.

YES, as long as both engines are a 1.6L 8V then the ECM's are the same.

it is behind the drivers side speaker u have to remove the speaker, und bolts on ecm and lift it out. then you put in the new one a plug it in. no programming is required.

How do you test a ecm on a Geo Tracker?
What year, what engine, auto or manual? The simplest way that I have ever tested them is in the truck. 1990-1995 the capacitors were junk and caused a no start. They are very easy to change though. If the injector circuit is blow that to easy to fix. On-_mitch

1995 Geo Tracker won't start No spark The battery is ok changed the ignition coil the fuses are ok but still no spark?
ECM the computer can be the problem if no start and even when truck will start but is inconsistant at starting and stalling. If the ECM has not been changed in 5 to 6 years then it is likely due. Any moisture problems on the drivers floor will likely increase the odds of it being the computer. Joe
