Norton carries very good anti virus programs that can be used for PC as well as the i-mac. Spyware and Mccaffee also carry protection for both i-mac and PC. Visiting these sites you can weigh your options in the type of protection that you are looking for based on the type of browsing that you do. Lately there have been great services for a small amount of protection that is free of cost or a lot of protection for a small cost.
This sounds dumb, but people make viruses to sell virus protection software. You can get viruses via emails, websites, and files that you may want to download, but have a virus attached.
