3.4 2000 Impala Step on the gas whirring noise higher as you go faster Just had serpentine replaced WD-40 makes it go from squeaking to loud whirring moisture under driver side floormat how 2 fix?

The cause of this could be something as simple as adding power steering fluid. Let me explain something that I recently went through. (If it seems like what you're going through, then DEFINITELY add the fluid.) -- I would occasionally hear a grinding/whirring noise right under my feet as I was driving. -- This would occur generally when I would hit the gas and turned at the same time. It progressively got worse; to the point where I would start the car, come out of a parking spot, and it would continuously make that grinding/whirring noise the entire time I drove the car. Adding power steering fluid is no easy task with this car. In order for you to even locate the power steering fluid reservoir, you have to remove the antifreeze/coolant reservoir & the bar that runs across the top of the car. (Near the windshield). Once you do this, look behind the alternator and down some (behind the engine) and you'll see the power steering reservoir cap. Just take the bottle of power steering fluid, go in between the belts and strut housing and carefully top off the fluid. Let the car run for a little while and occasionally turn the steering wheel.

Your 1994 dodge started making a noise while driving then power steering fluid was leaked out then the steering became really tightI drove 6 hours like this adding fluid when stopping is my pump bad?

Well......without fluid around the pump I am sure you didn't do it any good driving it that long. May I suggest you add some Lucas Power Steering additive and some power steering fluid to your pump, usually a 20%-80% mix. I would go heavier with a 40%-60% mix and see if your power steering unit still works. I hope you fixed the leak first before following this advice.

How do you replace a power steering pump on a 2000 dodge durango?

BleedingCAUTIONThe fluid level should be checked with engine off to prevent injury from moving components.WARNINGUse MOPAR® Power Steering Fluid (2001) or MOPAR® ATF+4 (2002 and later) is to be used in the power steering system. No other power steering or automatic transmission fluid is to be used in the system. Damage may result to the power steering pump and system if any other fluid is used. Do not overfill.Wipe filler cap clean, then check the fluid level. The dipstick should indicate COLD when the fluid is at normal temperature (before engine has been operated).Turn steering wheel all the way to the leftFill the pump fluid reservoir to the proper level and let the fluid settle for at least two (2) minutes.Raise the front wheels off the ground.Slowly turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock 20 times with the engine OFF while checking the fluid level. NOTEVehicles with long return lines or oil coolers turn wheel 40 times.Start the engine. With the engine idling maintain the fluid level.Lower the front wheels and let the engine idle for two minutes.Turn the steering wheel in both direction and verify power assist and quiet operation of the pump.If the fluid is extremely foamy or milky looking, allow the vehicle to stand a few minutes and repeat the procedure. You just replaced high pressure power steering hose on 1994 Pontiac grand am gt 3.1 you now have air in systemhow do you bleed?

Remove power steering reservoir cap. Jack up front of car. With engine off, turn the steering wheel to the left and fill the reservoir to the full cold mark. Then slowly turn the wheel to the right all the way, and to the left all the way. This will bleed the air out of the system. It will take about 20 to 40 complete cycles. You might want to have an assistant to watch the level in the reservoir to make sure the level does not fall too low and suck in air. Don't let that happen or it will take longer to complete the task. Don't ram the wheel hard either, just go slow and steady. Once you have made the twenty or so cycles get your assistant to look in the reservoir with a flashlight and look for frothy oil or bubbles. The fluid should be clear with no bubbles in it. If you see bubbles keep bleeding by turning the steering wheel slowly all the way left and all the way right. This should take care of any air in the system. Re check the fluid level then lower the car and go for a drive. Steering should be smooth and have no noises. If the power steering is making a howling or whining noise the pump is probably shot.

Ford F-150 4X4 351 Power Steering problem no power to the right?

Steering problem 1992 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 198000 miles ---------------------------------------------------------------- I am hoping someone can help me with this problem. I have a Ford F150 4x4 with a 351M in it. About two weeks ago my power steering went out when turning to the right only. I checked the fluid level and it was low. I topped it off and started it up. I noticed that the pump started shooting fluid out the reservoir. I thought the pump went bad so I replaced with new. I completely flushed the system tell fluid came out clear. I bleed the system by lifting the front off the ground and turned wheel back and forth to stop position about 40 times. I checked fluid level and it was fine and showed no bubbles. I started the truck up and heard the pump start gurggling and seen that the fluid was again coming out the reservoir and looked real frothy. Is there a valve somewhere else that could be bad that is causing the fluid to flow the backwards and shoot out the res? Any help would be great. Thank you Christian Jones

What kind of fluid do i use in 72 Chevy truck?

For a 1972 Chevy truck, the type of fluid you need depends on the specific system. For the engine, use conventional or synthetic motor oil with a viscosity of 10W-30 or 10W-40. The transmission typically requires Dexron automatic transmission fluid, while power steering systems often use either ATF or power steering fluid specifically designed for older models. Always check the owner's manual for the most accurate specifications.

Where to add more hydraulic fuild on a clark forklift c 500-40?

To add more hydraulic fluid to a Clark forklift C500-40, locate the hydraulic fluid reservoir, which is typically found near the rear of the forklift. Remove the cap and check the fluid level using the dipstick, if available. If the fluid level is low, use the appropriate hydraulic fluid and pour it into the reservoir until it reaches the recommended level. Always ensure the forklift is on a level surface and consult the operator's manual for specific guidelines.
