since its in english probably england

Tripping is an American word and came about when chemists were playing around with mind altering drugs for psychiatric realignment. As a recreational substance users would have an out-of-body experience known as a trip. Therefore is is likely that tripping was used to describe someone presently under the influence of a drug such as LSD or Heroin rather than a drug such as cocain, extasy or an amphetamine. The latest and most powerful forms of hashish known as super-skag can cause similar vegative and trip-like states and vivid dreams similar to heroin abuse. Even extreme euphoria that is associated with Amyl Nitrate (poppers) was originally an antidote for cyanide poisoning or for treating some heart complaints, can be described as 'tripping' as it can make a person feel reckless, invincible and have a out of the body experience.

Tripping is not a word associated with a holiday or as taking a trip abroad and therefore is not used like this in the 'English' as we use it.
