DNA is located in an organisms cells. It depends, however, on what kind of organism it is. In a prokaryotic cell (single celled organisms), the DNA is more or less free floating in the cytoplasm, inside the cell wall. However, in a Eukaryotic Cell (multi-celled organisms), the DNA is located tightly packed in the nucleus of the cell.
