In Where the Red Fern Grows, the major event that happened in chapter X, Old Dan the dog gets trapped in a muskrat den and Billy has to dig him out. In chapter XIII, a big fight breaks out between Billy and Rubin.
In chapters 9-13 of "Where the Red Fern Grows," Billy continues to train his dogs diligently and they develop a strong bond. The family faces challenges, but Billy's determination and his dogs' skills lead them to successful hunts. However, a tragic event unfolds toward the end of this section, testing Billy's resilience and the strength of his relationship with his dogs.

here is half of it so he goes to the woods for a day trying to chop the big tree to get the coon skin but it takes him alot of time so his grandpa comes and says to make a scarecrow so the coon stays in there and then his dog goes crazy about getting the dog that all i know i think it is a good summary...
