Yes the Apache invented the wickiup that was perfect for their land. Branches woven together into a round fandand then covered with desert bushes and leaves. The wickiup could be built quickly with materials readly at hand, and then quickly abandoned, making the Apache highly mobile.
Were these temporary or permanent homes for the Apache tribe?
The Mandan Indians had to move from their home in the Indian Removal Act

The Apache was a tribe of the Southwest, especially Arizona, New Mexico and Texas as well as northern Mexico. These hunters/warriors were always on the move and needed simple, easy to construct housing. Most Apache lived in wickiups which were simple wooden frames covered with brush or a buffalo hide. They could be constructed in two hourse. Some Apache also used buffalo-hide teepees.
Western Apache: " gową " means wickiup/home
One famous Indian of Arizona, that has been known very well, is the Apache Kid. We have streets, lotion, shoes, buildings, and so much more named after him. His contribution for Arizona was his life. He was wanted by many states, and other Indians were going to try to take over Arizona. But the Apache Kid, said that if he were to give his life to them, then the other Indians could not take over his home. The Indians agreed. So we really need to thank The Apache Kid.
Everyone has someplace to get out of the wind and rain - even street people. When Indians were traveling to find food or a new home, they had a type of traveling tent, sometimes in the form of a teepee and sometimes as a lean-to.
A home feels much more welcoming then a doorway !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Apache wikiup was a thatched hut like home for most Apache. This was a simple wood frame that had thick layers of long grass overlapped for walls. The plains Apache generally used hide instead of the long grass since it was easier to heat and more spacious.
apache indians get sticks and make a jenga shape like and then they lit fire to a place where it will not burn anything else and then they will carry the person and put them on the fire they could do that before the fire and then lit them or just fire first and then person on top. Then when the person is totally burnt their soul just goes to god and only dirt is left and you carry it home in a jar and put the lid on top for remembrance.
