Pastry cream powder is a form of starch used in the creation of pastry cream. This pastry cream is the basis of many different fillings for different desserts like tarts, eclairs and various other sweets. It is white in color and has a slight vanillin odor and its texture is most compared to corn starch. Like corn starch, it is a thickener and works upon contact. As it is mostly available online or through commercial outlets many a time it is replaced by corn starch as it is cheaper and more readily available. The pastry cream, however is a lot less gelatinous, when corn starch is substituted.
Put corn flour/starch in you mouth, not to much, as it will make you gag. Don't swallow. Hold the flame in front of your mouth (about 10cms) and exhale the corn flour onto the flame, it should catch fire in mid air.
Some marshmellows do hav gluten. But not all of them have it. It really depends on the brand that you would buy.
Maltodextrin is a starch commonly derived in the US from corn. Maltodextrin is also known as "corn starch" and can be found in the baking aisle of your local grocery store. Pharmaceutical-grade, or USP maltodextrin can be obtained from a pharmacy, but may require a prescription in order to purchase. A quick call to your local compounding pharmacy will tell you whether one is required.

I USED to!!! For years I've eaten corn starch; I saw my aunt do it when I was like 10 or 11. I started eating it here and there. But then it became an addiction all the way up to 24. I would buy a box every week. I've read that this is called PICA- a craving to eat clay, cigarrette butts, chalk, paint on the wall, laundry starch, corn starch, etc. Pica is also associated with Anemia, which I have. Talk to your doctor about....trust me....it'll get worse.
I got it @ Japanese centre.
You buy it at a farm that sells corn because usually they will give you a bushel of corn. p.s. give me trust points
