First, you have to defeat Red at Mt. Silver. Once you defeat him, Fly back to Pallet Town and talk to Professor Oak. He is willing to give you one of the Kanto starters. You could either choose Bulbasaur (Grass/Poison), Charmander (Fire) and Squirtle (Water). Choose Charmander and evolve it.
