R-12 is banned for sale in the us. The only way that you can buy r-12 is to be licensed. The EPA banned it back in the early 90's due to r-12 effecting the ozone layer. There is a website www.idqusa.com that has helpful in giving information on how to retrofit your vehicle to the new R-134a system.
