The key has a built in Chip and can only be purchased from a Olds. dealer cost is around $21.
edit
The ignition actually uses PKII (pk2)system. There is not a resistor in the key. The chip is on the key lock cylinder not the key. Dealer is still the best place to get them. Last one I got was 9 dollars.
How do I get a replacement key for 2000 mazda 626?
A 2000 Volvo S 80 replacement key will cost $125. The replacement key can be purchased at most Volvo dealerships.
Amazingkeys.com has the 2000 Buick LeSabre Key. It does have the chip in it.
dealership it needs to be coded for that vehicle
The 2000 Ford Taurus does contain a transponder chip inside the key. The replacement can be programed by a locksmith or dealer service department.
Ford dealership or an ACE hardware if you have one near you
replacing the blower motor resistor which cost about 20 bucks or so.....hope this helps
Go to the Dealer and give them the VIN number. They can look it up in their computer and make you another key.
A person can get a replacement key from the dealership the vehicle was purchased from. A replacement key can also be purchased from a locksmith.
Yes it does. You can only get replacement keys from the dealer (and they will need to program it). I have a 2000 S40 and was thinking of just getting a spare/extra key and it was almost $100 and that was a few years ago.
A locksmith can clone a key for you. If you lose all your keys, the dealership would be needed for special programming (Reflash ECU).
I do not know specifically for your vehicle, however I had the same thing on my 1998 Olds Intrigue. The mechanic turned the key to the on position, then pressed down on the accelerator three times. That reset my sensor.
