This really depends on the type of things you like but as an Aucklander here are a few of my favourites...
- The Auckland Museum
- The domain
- The shops in Ponsonby, Krd and Queen Street (and the little streets around these areas)
- Mt Eden
- The beaches Herne bay, Bethels beach etc
- The cafes in Kingsland
- Trips on the ferry to Waiheke Island or Rangitoto
and I find that Auckland is great to just explore on the buses, going to less touristy places Dominion rd, Grey lynn, anywhere you can find. But that might just be me as a local :)
Auckland City has numerous interesting places like the SkyCity Tower, Kelly Tarltons Antarctic Centre, the Tamaki Waterfront Drive, the Auckland Art Gallery, the Victoria Park Market, the Auckland Zoo and many more like sports activities.
