The first commercial plant was Calder Hall in the UK, in service in 1956. There were four reactors of the magnox type, each produced 50 MWe. They were used both for electricity production and to make plutonium, so not strictly for civil use. Other sites may claim electricity production before this, in very small amounts and really for demonstration purposes only, but Calder did run continuously for many years, until 2003 I think. A similar plant with four reactors was built at Chapelcross in Scotland.

The Atomic Energy Plant is named after physicist Enrico Fermi, who is known for his contributions to nuclear physics and for his work on the first controlled nuclear chain reaction.
The first plant to recover and grow at Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the atomic bombings was the Oleander. The Oleander is known for its resilience and ability to grow in harsh conditions, which allowed it to be one of the first plants to sprout and bloom in the devastated areas.
