On Golgotha or Calvary, which was a place outside of the walls of Jerusalem. Golgotha and Calvary are very similar terms, as they both mean the place of the skull, which describes the face of the mountain on top of which the cross was placed.

The gospels say that Jesus was crucified at Golgotha, just outside Jerusalem city. He was then taken to the sepulchre of an influential man. Joseph of Arimathea, for burial.

We do not really know just where Golgotha or the sepulchre were. Helena, the mother of the fourth-century Christian emperor, Constantine, went to Palestine and identified the actual locations of Golgotha and the nearby tomb, and had a magnificent Christian church built over both sites together. However, there are problems with Helena's miraculous identification of these sites. First of all, the construction of the church required the appropriation and destruction of two important pagan temples, to the delight of the Christians. Secondly, it seems improbable in the extreme that an influential gentleman would have a sepulchre prepared for his own eventual burial, in such close proximity to the site used for execution of criminals. A scholar has commented that Helena's many thrilling discoveries were made "with miraculous aid seldom now vouchsafed to archaeologists".

Answer

Jesus was crucified outside of the city walls of Jerusalem in a place called Calvary or Golgotha. (Matt. 27:33; Mark 15:22; Luke 23:33; John 19:17)
There is a debate among biblical historians on the exact spot, but they have it narrowed down to two or three using clues from historical documents and The Bible. We may never know the exact spot.

Shouldn't the name Jesus Christ be Jesus the Christ?

That is a wonderful question, but the Bible does not use much punctuation, so in reality, speaking of the grammar, it is suppose to be written Jesus, Christ. not Jesus Christ. As many references in the KJV of the Bible, is Christ Jesus, written correctly Christ, Jesus, or Jesus, Christ. It is referring to Christ.
