The river Jordon is correct , the exact site of which is unknown today, although traditionally it is near Jericho. It was at this location that John baptized Jesus because there was much water there. This seems to indicate that Jesus was submerged under the water.

∙ 9y agoJohn the Baptist baptised in the Jordan River north of where the River Jordan enters the Dead Sea. This was a full days journey from Jerusalem, but apparently this is where God wanted John to start his ministry.
