If the storm could be imagined as the troubles of this world that brings to us persecution because we believe in Jesus, and then think that the one whom we serve is the one also that calms the storm. then the word of God has calmed the turbulence in us that comes from 'Jesus persecution'.
This is the Sea of Galilee. In this part of the story they are moving on to the present-day Jordan. It is not written in the Bible the name of the water, but by the many clues that are given along his path, scholars were able to trace them.
In the three Gospels which record this event no number is mentioned. It could reasonably be assumed, that since no-one is recorded as being absent that all twelve were present. See:Matthew 8:23-27: Mark 4:35-41 and Luke 8:22-25

Some of the miracles the messiah did were as follows. Change the water into wine. He raised the dead. He healed the lepers. He walked on the water. And he calmed the waters from a storm.
