He was brought up in a barn :]

AnswerAs everyone knows, at Jesus' birth he was 'laid in a manger' because there was no room in the inn. This implies that Jesus was born in a place where animals were kept (most probably a cave rather than a stable as purpose-built stables did not really exist in those days).

However by the time the wise men arrived, Matthew's gospel tells us that they arrived at the house where Jesus was living and not a stable or cave. This is also confirmed in the original Greek. Also, as Herod murdered children two years old and below this implies that Jesus was about this age when the wise men arrived.

Therefore Jesus was brought up for a short while in a house in Bethlehem, before escaping to Egypt (again recorded in Matthew's gospel) and thence to Galilee where he would have been brought up in the family house (and place of Joseph's carpentry business) there.
