History of brawny paper towels?
In 1974, Georgia-Pacific debuted a new paper towel called "Brawny". In his hand, the Brawny guy carries what looks like an axe, It's called a peavey. It has a metal pont and a hinged hook used by lumbermen to push logs. The Brawny guy wears a red flannel shirt with the top button open, He parts his hair at the center and he has brown eyes and two trees appear from behind his shoulder. In 1978, Designer Brawny towels were introduced, The Brawny guy replaces a red flannel shirt with a green flannel shirt. In 1983, The new tagline is "The Big, Tough Towel" as the Brawny guy gets a makeover: he has a shorter haircut but his eyes are now green, and a forest is made of four trees. Starting in 1991, Brawny prints are introduced. The Brawny guy wears a blue flannel shirt and starts parting his hair on side instead of the middle. In 1992, Brawny Holiday Prints are introduced. The Brawny Holiday Prints are in red and green with matching solids, and the Brawny guy wears a santa cap and replaces a peavey on his hand with a candy cane. In 1993, The new tagline is "Thirst Pockets For Spill Relief". The Brawny logo changed from uppercase to lower-case letters, Below the Brawny guy is a forest of 20 trees, and he puts down his peavey to make the trees to grow visible. In 2000, The Brawny guy wore a blue denim shirt for the new millenium. And in 2003, The Brawny guy now has a clean shaven look.
