oil and gas are formed from the dead decompostition of plants and animals. The dead animals are put on the layers of the sea bed. they are rotted to form a tiny drop of oil. The remains are covered with mud and sand. over time the sand gets compressed into the sand stone and the oil and gas separate filliing in the particle spaces /
