1. I don't remember any explosion of Cassini spacecraft in 1997. This Cassini is also now in space for research on Saturn (up to 2017).
2. The thermoelectric generator with plutonium-238 can be totally recovered at the end of mission.
The Cassini-Huygens probe was launched on the15th of October 1997, on a mission to orbit Saturn and study its many moons. in 2008 , NASA extended the Cassini-Huygens mission by two years naming it the Cassini Equinox Mission. Another mission extension has been proposed to to prolong Cassinis mission until 2017.
The Cassini probe never went to Uranus. It went to Saturn. It was launched in 1997 and reached Saturn in 2004.
Cassini Huygens
The space probe launched in October 1997 to study Saturn was the Cassini-Huygens mission. Cassini orbited Saturn for over 13 years and provided valuable data on the planet's atmosphere, rings, and moons. The Huygens probe also landed on Saturn's largest moon, Titan, in 2005.
The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft was launched on October 15, 1997. It was a joint mission by NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Italian Space Agency (ASI) to study Saturn and its moons. Cassini orbited Saturn for over 13 years, providing valuable insights into the planet and its moons.
Try Michell's on line
It was launched on October 15, 1997 and entered into orbit around Saturn on July 1, 2004.
The Cassini mission, launched by NASA in 1997, aimed to study Saturn, its rings, and its moons to enhance our understanding of the Saturnian system. It sought to explore the planet's atmosphere, magnetosphere, and the dynamics of its rings, as well as to investigate the potential for life on its moons, particularly Enceladus and Titan. Cassini's findings have provided unprecedented insights into planetary science and the processes that shape our solar system.
The mission is managed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where the orbiter was designed and assembled. Cassini-Huygens's origins date to 1982, when the European Science Foundation and the American National Academy of Sciences formed a working group to investigate future cooperative missions. It was launched on 1997-10-15 08:43:00 UTCSee more here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassini_spacecraft
i want a exploded view as a picture ,to show the reroute of the belt.
The Cassini mission, launched in 1997, aimed to study Saturn, its rings, and its moons in detail. It provided unprecedented data about the planet's atmosphere, magnetic field, and complex ring system. Additionally, the mission focused on exploring Saturn's moons, particularly Titan and Enceladus, to investigate their potential for harboring life. Overall, Cassini significantly enhanced our understanding of the Saturnian system and the dynamics of planetary science.
Two space probes have been sent to Saturn: Pioneer 11 in 1979 and the Cassini-Huygens mission in 1997. Cassini-Huygens provided extensive data on Saturn and its moons, including the discovery of liquid methane lakes on Titan and the geysers on Enceladus.
