CHRISTINGLE
The service is called Christingle (said to mean Christ light). It dates back to the mid 1700s in Germany and later spread to the Anglican church in England and elsewhere. The fruit--usually an orange--with the candle embedded is itself called a Christingle. You may see the Related Link for more on this ceremony, including photographs.
