The first mention of a prison in the Bible is found in the Book of Genesis, when Joseph was cast into prison in Egypt after being falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife. 📖 Genesis 39:20 (KJV): "And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison."
