Your pet has to have a current distemper, parvovirus and rabies vaccination but not sooner than 14 days from the transport across the border. A vet health certificate from a certified veterinarian stating that your pet is not showing signs of illness and is in generally good healthy. You also need a dog passport. Some places require animals to be microchiped with a certain brand chip and proof of the chipping. A collar and visible microchip tag and resent contact information pet tags must be on the animal. There may be more but I suggest you check the Canadian web sight for further information and forms that will also need to be filled out beforehand.
Vets check the dogs at the beginning of the race, for heart, hydration, appetite, weight, and lungs. Dogs must have all vaccination's, heartworm check, and they are microchiped. Plus, the dogs are evaluated during the race. These dogs are athletes and get top-notch care.
