It's hard to predict what jobs will be available in 5 years. But a good, experienced trainer will almost always be able to find work. If you are good at what you do, and are very knowlegable you can find work as an apprentice trainer under a more established trainer. This is a good way to make contacts, increase skills, learn and get your "foot in the door".
Inquire your local gym or fellow athletes to establish a good workout routine to find out which would be best for you. Some routines are not for everyone, however, so be mindful of this.

I think you are better off getting a personal trainer that can help you with this. What is right for you may not be right for everyone, so things I suggest might not work for you. Instead, getting a trainer who works directly with you can probably adapt a workout regime that will work perfectly for you.
