How much money would it cost to get to Germany and stay there?

It depends where you are flying from and for how long you want to stay in Germany. If you planning on immigrating to Germany and working there, you will find it nearly impossible to obtain a green card to live there. The unemployment rate in Germany is over 10%, and the labour laws are very restrictive. You would have to find a job where their is a shortage of native workers and be able to speak German profiecently. Its easy to get a travel visa for 3 months-that would give you some time to see if living there is really what you want to do. My suggestion is to spend time in Berlin where the economy is booming and where you might find success there-maybe! Leipzig and Dresden are 2 other cities that are doing well. You must keep in mind that citizens of the European Union, have the inside track on employment opportunites, then the U.S. and Canada. Keep that in mind as well. One other suggestion is to find a job in the U.S. that is a German company, like Siemens, learn German and get some valuable experience and then apply for a company transfer to Germany.
