In written sheet music. They are different lengths of note.
A semibreve is four times longer than a crotchet. If you imagine a semibreve with a length of 64 (for theory's sake) as a 'whole note', a half note with a length of 32 is a minim, a quarter note with length 16 is a crotchet, etc. The list goes on. Here's a helpful link: http://neilhawes.com/sstheory/theory12.htm Scroll down to the table and you should find that very illustrative. {| ! ! | ! | ! ! ! | ! | ! ! ! | ! | ! ! ! | ! | ! ! ! | ! | ! ! ! | ! | ! ! ! | ! | ! ! ! | ! | ! | |}
In just about any piece of music. A semibreve is another name for a Whole Note, or a single note that is held for an entire measure.
6 semiquavers worth a dotted crotchet
there are different kinds of rests and their beats you would have to look at the beginning of the measure to find out what the BPM is most likely it would be a 4/4 beat meaning 4 beats a measure. some of the rests are half rests-2 beats quarter rests-1 beat and a full rest-4 beats
It depends what the time signature is. For example if its 4/4 then it will be 1 crotchet in a beat but if its 3/4 then it will be 3. If you find the bottom number is an 8 like 4/8 then that means that there in 4 quavers in a bar and therefore 1 quaver in a beat.
Notes and values are found in music, and in written musical scores. Notes are the melodic notes of a particular pitch, and values are their duration, e.g. crotchet - quarter note, minim - half note, etc.
