Might try a place listing parts on the Remington Society of America's Service and Parts page here: http://remingtonsociety.com/rsa/service
Numrich sells the bolt assembly but is currently sold out. If you find one, let me know, I need one also. Thanks, Todd.
You will not likely find a Remington stock. I put my 722 in a Bell and Carlson stock and I love it.
The sportsman 78 model Remington is the same as a Remington 700 adl, but i have yet to find whether to buy a short or long action stock for mine... so i would just go for a rem 700 adl stock
The stock for this model gun can be found at cabella's
usually the stock is behind and the forearm is in front of the receiver.
Try e-gunparts.com
can find on ebay for around 80.00
Check the list of vendors on the Remington Society of America here: http://remingtonsociety.com/rsa/service
I would go on the web, there are a lot of sights that can supply you with a replacement stock. Look here for a list of suppliers: http://remingtonsociety.com/rsa/service/ e-gunparts.com is probably one of the largest.
There is a part supplier list on the Remington Society of America, check that page one of the best is e-gunparts.com but there's a lot more listed on that page.
Contact Remington directly. They should be able to identify the variant of model 700 rifle you have after a brief description of your rifles stock, finish, barrel length etc.
Sure, if you can find a stock reasonably. Check eBay. sales@countrygunsmith.net
