On a 1997 Ford Explorer : The right side kick panel would be inthe front passenger footwell It is the interior trim panel , just in front of the front door , by the passengers feet

One or two front turn signal bulbs is busted. Check your front turn signal bulbs and replace it.

Chances are it is an oxygen sesor. An OBII code reader should tell you if it is the front or rear sensor. I replcaed the front O2 sensor on my Explorer last fall. Easy job too!!!

On your Ford Explorer , 4x4 , you have a leak at the PASSENGER side front axle seal ( I have had my passenger side front axle seal changed 3 times now on my 1995 Ford Explorer ) The seal doesn't cost very much , the cost is the labor and I would say it takes about 1 and 1/4 hours to do the job
