The rainfall in regions varies from place to place. If it is too hot and dry, the rainfall would be scanty (20 to50cm). if a little humid then a good amount of rainfall would be expected (100 to 200cm). If too humid then a large amount of rainfall (200 to 400mm). And if a rain forest then it would be a large amount (above 400mm).

The proper noun Athens is the name of a city. It would not ordinarily use a plural. It might be possible to describe Athens (Greece) and Athens (Georgia) as "two Athenses" or simply as the "two Athens."
Florida's average rainfall varies by location, but would average between 50 and 60 inches throughout the state for most years.......Just my opinion....

Lisbon, Portugal gets a lot of rainfall. If you are going there I would recommend bringing light-to medium clothing and rain wear.

I believe that if Great Plains received greater than average amount of rainfall one year,the people who live there would have more water than ever.The only problem is that there would be flooded.
