The great man Samuel was the first prophet, that is both a major or a minor prophet.
To diagram the compound sentence "The false prophets had failed, for their god could not hear," you would separate it into two main clauses: "The false prophets had failed" and "for their god could not hear." The first clause is independent, while the second clause is introduced by the coordinating conjunction "for," which indicates a reason. You would place the first clause above a horizontal line and connect the second clause below it with a slanted line leading to "for," showing the relationship between the two clauses.
You read, hear or see one. Prophets are famous and well heard of, well known. Sometimes, not all are actual prophets, just some masquerading as such.
Christian prophets really believe in the same thing. They believe in the Holy Book and the commandments of God. The only thing unique about Prophets is that God gives them an exclusice ear to hear what he has to say to the people and he gives them an extraordinary eye to see. I thank God for his Prophets and his Prophetess. They are such a help to this cold cruel world.
The first book of Prophets in the Jewish Bible is Joshua.
Elijah
Im on this website to find an answer not make them
They were to hear the word of God, to tell the people what God said and to warn the people to repent and pay heed to God.
The first three prophets in the first half of the Bible are often referred to as the "Major Prophets." These include Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. They are called "major" due to the length and significance of their writings, which address various themes such as judgment, hope, and the coming Messiah. These books are found in the Old Testament of the Bible.
The false prophets were populists who tended to prophesy peace and prosperity, while the true prophets told the people whatever God commanded them, which sometimes included prophesying the First destruction. See also:More about the prophets
Currently they are not, however Joseph Smith (the first Prophet of the restoration) was, and maybe some other early Prophets and members as well. I hear that Mormon Temple rituals contain similarities to free mason rituals, (but i do not know either.)
That book is Samuel.
Judaism has not had any prophets since shortly after the destruction of the First Temple. Jesus is not considered divine or a prophet in Judaism.
