Protein and carbohydrates
Fat is needed for our body, Regardless of what the diet companies and products say about low fat and fat free products being good for losing weight, they don't mention that our bodies so need unsaturated fats such as omega 3 fatty acids (often found in fish) can protect your body from heart disease and some types of cancers. Fats can also help to regulate blood pressure, prevent blood clotting and reduce inflammation.
Carbohydrates provide your brain and body with energy, alot quicker than by consuming proteins and fats. Starchy carbs are healthier than sugars, a complex of carbs is which helps all types of food pass easily through the body and aids digestion. Carbs also falls into another class .. sugars which occur naturally in some foods but are less healthy.
Proteins help the growth and maintenance of healthy bones, muscles, blood and skin. when carbs are not available the body will convert proteins into energy but too much protein (and not enough exercise) can lead to that protein being converted into fat (therefore causing weight gain)
Vitamins .. our bodies can not produce these but are important for keeping people healthy. Our immune systems and regulate the release of things such as calcium. Vitamins are also important for organ function.
Minerals commonly found in foods like cereals, fish, meat, veg, fruit and nut. They help the bdy work as it should by building strong bones and teeth, controlling body fluids and turning food into energy. Two important minerals are iron and calcium, lack of these will leed to deficiencies (example my son lacks iron and is amemic which causes him to be tired and lethargic and constantly hungry, he is on an iron supplement to try increase the iron in his body).
protein and carbohydrates...although if unused, carbs turn into fat around your belly, theighs, and buttocks...same with protein
All of the nutrients work together with each other.
glucose and oxygen
Cells and carbohydrates are the two nutrients which store energy.
The main function of nutrients is to help with your bodies well being and they will also keep your body working. You may have alot of nutrients but you need to also excersise to use up all your fat that your body comsumes.
For example heating by combustion of fuels.
Carbohydrates are very important for human nutrition, they are in charge of providing fuel and energy to carry out bodily functions. They are the enablers of fat metabolism, they provide fuel for the central nervous system and the muscles. You can find carbohydrates in foods like grains, milk and fruits.

nutrients flow in two directions , and energy recycles. By: val <3
It can transport nutrients because of two things. One, is mainly because of our heart that serve as the pump. Secondly, the blood that carries the nutrients and serve as a vessel to carry the nutrients into any parts of our body. blood provides the delivery of oxygen which helps cells to function and create ATP ( cell's energy) and then certain receptors of different nutrients are broken down to serve as energy for the whole body.

The main energy sources for the body are Carbohydrates, proteins and fats. The body uses Carbohydrates more than the other two sources. The body will get energy from fats, and lastly, proteins. This is why a low carb diet will cause you to lose weight. Energy itself, is caused by the body converting carbs, fats and proteins into Glucose.
