Poland. After England and Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain gave away Czechoslovakia to Nazi Germany, (without asking the Czech people), Hitler felt he could take Poland easy.
Chamberlain believed that along with the French, that appeasing Hitler would stop any war. He was certain that allowing Germany to take procession of part of Czechoslovakia would satisfy Hitler.
The Munich Pact (September 1938) was signed by British prime minister Neville Chamberlain and French prime minister Edouard Daladier, along with Hitler and his Italian ally Benito Mussolini. The pact gave Germany control of Czechoslovakia and failed to deter Hitler from invading Poland in September 1939.

Neville Chamberlain. He gave away Czechoslovakia to Hitler to try and appease him and when Hitler invaded Poland (on Sept. 1, 1939) his day's were numbered. He was soon replaced by Winston Churchill, who warned England about the dangers from Nazi Germany for years prior to 1939.
