It depends on what type of video you are trying to embed in your website, but generally speaking you are going to use the <object> tag in combination with the <embed> tag in order to maximize compatibility across browsers. Each video format you want to embed uses slightly different settings.

If you would like to upload a HTML code onto a website all you have to do is select 'insert HTML code' if it is a site like 'freewebs' for eample but if you have an orriginal site then put the code onto a notepad, the save as 'whatever your text is'.HTML then you upload that file onto your site

The simple way is just to link a video to the YouTube video page on YouTube. However, if you want the whole video to be displayed on your website, then you can enable HTML coding on your website, and embed the YouTube video into the section of your website with proper coding. You can then delete any excess text that came with the embedding code. Not all videos can be embedded onto a website however, so make sure you figure out if the video is allowed to be embedded. Videos that don't show an embedding code will signify that the uploader has turned off video embedding for their video.
If you want to add video to website, you need to "embed" it with embed code. Embed code is web page code. When using embed code to add video to website, the Internet address of the video is needed, which is called "URL". This URL tells the web browser via the embed code to find and play the video with its Internet address. First of all, write a message saying 'click her to go to our new website' etc. Then insert a hyperlink where they should click that takes them to the other website. You could use a HTML (or another coding language such as PHP) code such as a META tag to refresh onto another page.
