The TV version had telescopic and infra-red (night) vision and super-human strength in his arms and legs and the ability to run upwards of 60 mph. The version of the character in the original novels by Martin Caidin had fewer abilities - no bionic sight in his eye - but had other goodies like a poison dart gun in his bionic arm and a radio transmitter built into a rib and a steel-reinforced skull. The comic books of the 1970s added a laser beam to his bionic eye.
