The whole human race started in Africa, so yes religion started there too.
There are no two books common to all religions. Actually there is no one book common to all religions. Though many religions do not totally dismiss the writings of other religions, they do not hold them at the core of their belief system.
We recognize all religions. Lutheranism is the most common.

In South Africa, the common religions observed is Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hunduism, and then also the faiths and cultures of the African people here. Some of the African Cultures like Zulu, Xhosa, and others, have believes that link to their ancestors that guide and look over them. The official religion of South Africa is Christianity even thou South Africa is a multicultural society. The current government has kept Christianity as the country's official religion since coming out of the Apartheid era.
