You should look for a good Form Factor, Chipset, Memory type, Max CPU and a desired Max Memory and Memory slots. It also depends on what you're looking for in a soundcard.
There are no actual "generic" USB sound devices. Run the command lsusb in your terminal. It should list the make and model, or at least the chipset, of your USB device. Then, look on ALSA's website to see if it is supported. If it is not, then there is not really anything you can do to use it, except wait for the ALSA team to develop a new kernel module for it.
If you have an audio interface, you may not need a separate soundcard as the audio interface can handle the functions of a soundcard and provide better audio quality and connectivity for your setup.
I'm wondering exactly the same thing. From my research I'm thinking it will....but you will need to use a USB soundcard. These vary in quality both in constrution and performance. Prices seem to range from £2.50 to around £12...you get what you pay for it seems. The card accepts the audio and microphone 3.5mm jacks. The other end of the soundcard has the USB fitting which you plug into your PS3 via one of it's USB sockets. Now it does seem that the headphones in question are a very popular make so I am a little suprised that the question has not already been aswered. Hope this helps a bit, not a conclusive answer but at least you will now know you need a USB sound card if the headphones you choose have a 3.5mm jack plug as apposed to a USB plug...... John
