For me, this is a no-brainer. Sean Connery defined the character with his suave, calm interpretation of the British secret agent. I think the best example for how well he embodied 007 was in Goldfinger (1964), which includes several scenes of Bond basically just hanging out with the titular villain, Auric Goldfinger. His performance is mesmerizing in this particular movie, showcasing Bond's character and personality more than just his gadgets and moves.
While I personally believe Connery was the best actor to play James Bond, I think that the Daniel Craig-era films are definitely some of the best in the series. After being savagely parodied by the Austin Powers franchise, 007 needed to distance himself from the campiness of previous entries. Casino Royale (2006), the first entry to star Craig, did exactly that. This is my absolute favorite film in the James Bond series, with a tight screenplay that focuses on practical, more realistic espionage. While some of Casino Royale's sequels have embraced more of the corniness that audiences have come to expect from the series, I still think the production, writing, and tone of these newer films have cemented 007's place in modern cinema, and I am eagerly awaiting the release of No Time to Die (2020).
For me, it's Roger Moore. This is partly due to nostalgia—as a kid, I watched Moore's Bond films most often because 1) many were PG, which both calmed my mom down and eliminated Pierce Brosnan's efforts, and 2) they looked more modern than Sean Connery's. I think my love for his films endures, though, because he's Bond at his most relatable: He jokes around and isn't soulcrushingly handsome, so I can step into his shoes more easily than with the ever-old Connery or the stone-jawed Brosnan. This makes the movies more fun to watch.
Oh, and I'll add Timothy Dalton to the list. Always felt he was intriguing simply because he only had two movies and looked very similar to Pierce Brosnan.
For me it has to be Sean Connery. He was the "original" James Bond. Even Ian Fleming, the creator of 007 was on record as saying that Connery was the best image he had envisaged for the character. Most memorable quote:- Bond "Do you expect me to talk?" Goldfinger " No Mr Bond,I expect you to DIE " Classic :)
Just like when I answered the question about the Bond movies, this is my opinion. A lot of people will disagree with me.
It is most definitely Sean Connery, but Pierce Brosnan did a pretty good job.
George Lazenby was the best but I understand he got too big for his boots and then wasn't used again. After George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, Piers Brosnan, Sean Connery, Daniel Craig and lastly Roger Moore who played the character too camp in my opinion.
In my opinion, the best James Bond has been Danial Craig. The newer style of Bond movies are more action based, and I just like the character's attitude. However, there have been many actors that have played James Bond, and each has given something to the legacy of the character. You would have to try the different actors to see which one you prefer.
Other actors have been:
ROGER MOORE- Working Years: 1973-1985.
TIMOTHY DALTON- Working Years: 1987-1989.
GEORGE LAZENBY- Working Years: 1969.
PIERCE BROSNAN - Working Years: 1995-2002
honestly the answer will probabily be just someones opinion. so y even debat it when the answer is obvioously going o be something that some people like and what others dont like
I think Daniel Craig is this the best but the opinion is yours!
